Bullying and harassment can disrupt both personal well-being and the overall team dynamic, particularly in high-pressure environments like construction sites.

Scope:

This policy applies to all employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and anyone working with or visiting Edgar Shopfitting Ltd, whether on-site or in the workshop. It covers any form of harassment related to the protected characteristics under the Equality Act (Northern Ireland) 2010.

Definitions:

• Bullying: Repeated, unreasonable behaviour intended to intimidate or belittle Examples include verbal abuse, exclusion, and deliberate sabotage of work.
• Harassment: Unwanted conduct based on characteristics such as gender, race, age, disability, , that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Employees and Contractors: Should act respectfully and report any inappropriate behaviour to management They should support colleagues who may be affected.
• Management: Ensure that the workplace is free from bullying and All complaints must be taken seriously and investigated promptly, adhering to the Employment Rights (Northern Ireland) Order 1GG6.

Consequences:

Employees found to be bullying or harassing others may face disciplinary action, which can include termination of employment. Serious cases may also lead to legal action.
