Anti-Corruption and Bribery Policy

Policy Statement:

At Edgar Shopfitting Ltd, we are committed to conducting business with integrity, transparency, and in full compliance with the Bribery Act 2010. Given the competitive nature of the construction and shopfitting industry, we recognise the risk of corruption and bribery within both public and private sectors. Therefore, all employees, subcontractors, and partners must act ethically and report any activities that may lead to corruption or bribery.

Scope:

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, suppliers, and anyone who acts on behalf of the company.

Definitions:

  • Bribery: Offering, giving, receiving, or soliciting anything of value to influence decisions or actions improperly. This may include kickbacks or favours in return for business.
  • Corruption: Abuse of entrusted power for personal or organisational gain.

Responsibilities:

  • Employees: Employees are strictly prohibited from offering or accepting bribes or other forms of corrupt activities. They are encouraged to report any suspicious behaviour to their supervisor or anonymously, if necessary.
  • Management: Ensure all employees are trained on the legal and ethical standards required by the Bribery Act 2010. Management should also assess risks in projects to ensure that anti-bribery measures are implemented.

Consequences:

Any employee found involved in bribery or corruption will face immediate disciplinary action, potentially including dismissal. Serious violations may also lead to criminal prosecution.
